She was dancing like a fascist At Il Muro in Milan when her sister sat beside me with a clutch bag and a plan. It involved two one-way tickets to a destination known. She produced a B.A brochure with directions to my home. She said “I’m Inna and I’m pleased to meet you. I’m up for anything that you’re into.” Fly me – night tripper. She was surfing like a sex case in the way they do for fun. On the door they search for weapons. If you’re clean they’ll give you one. As fruit came on a platter, she identified her needs. She had visions of free passage to a job lined up in Leeds. She came on a train All the way from the Ukraine Fly me – night tripper. I was laughing like a hooker. On my knee red nails were drumming. I could see she was a looker by the way she saw me coming. She said, “You drive me crazy.” So, we went out to her car where she kept a Rickenbacker. She could play like Johnny Marr. She had a way that I thought was groovy. She should have been in a Fellini movie. Fly me – night tripper

Todas Santos Mexico 1 She jumped a red Our day was done Take a broken beetle Put it up on a drum Let all the people See the dead and dumb I laughed at life Thought it was funny You came along and killed me, honey with sex and drags and wreck and roll You sent me early unto my hole – eternal soul Chorus I kept a date with a girl called death Cos, I believe she’s the one I’m after I’m bound for glory cos she played my song In a crash fender car-disaster She’s waiting at Necropolis City with deathly pallor but still as pretty A million moons and suns have shined We found forever Is a long time If I could go on back to living I wouldn’t go even for women With sleepless nights and working days Plus, all those women they'll be on their way They’re coming here anyway…. Chorus Maybe the next one… (ad lib)

All I want Is me All I’m needing, baby Is a little bit of let me be Cos all I see is you Like a same old brand-new day that I got used to And you give me nothing Yeah you give me nothing I’m getting over all your underhand Baby don’t you understand that you give me nothing How can I want what I got? When what I got Is a whole lotta not a lot I’m in no doubt that I’m not absolutely sure It’s gotten to a point where I just don’t know me no more And you give me nothing Yeah you give me nothing I’m going under with your overkill Babe I ‘aint gonna wait until You give me nothing I’m all rhyme but I’m out of reasons Got a change of heart like a million seasons I’m out of time, baby, baby time and time again And again and again and again and again and again… And you give me nothing You give me nothing I’m gonna dance with the cows till you come home Then it’s no man's land I roam Cos you give me nothing

Well… Lucifer and Jesus took the night off and wound up at the 12 Bar down on old Denmark Street. They put money on the counter, said, ‘hey make the music louder, There’s girl up on that bandstand we’re both dying to meet.’ Standing tall and pale beneath a dim blue light was a girl behind a black veil with a Gretsch guitar Her songs were torn and broken, her delivery gin soaken. And after every tune she dragged a Cuban cigar. Well J.C said to Louis ‘Get the hell on out my face! Dad knows I saw her first, so you be gettin’ off her case.’ Lucifer went barmy, so he raised his evil army. Holy war ensued and laid the universe to waste. But in the end, it all came down to just them two, Still a kickin’ and a gougin’ in that Soho joint. Jesus fell defeated but he pulled a blade and cheated. Then knew that devil ragged to accelerate his point. From Lucifer’s red belly was a hellcat spawned. after six hundred and sixty-six long days stood and fell. She lit up that big cigar; hit a chord on that old guitar then pulled a thirty-eight and blew both daddies all to hell.

There was a man who made films in Japan Until his number was up and he got canned by ‘the man’ Cast out like a Tokyo drifter Quelled his pain with sake and his sorrow with bifta Love and napalm were the raves of the day As the Right picket the Budokan Nikkatsu blamed it, as they fell by the way, on the madness of Suzuki Seijun For a decade he wandered corporate halls Branded to Kill precipitated his fall There is much to fear from the visionary mind He won his case, but he had to leave those visions behind Love and napalm were the raves of the day As the Right picket the Budokan Nikkatsu blamed it as they fell by the way, on the madness of Suzuki Seijun Bridge The beast of youth had roared And scored one for the kids for the first time So, Jo Shishido rang and told him he was really out of line

I was wishing on a star on Venus when a space dog came and said he knew my name. Not me dog, I explained, that all us Earth boys look the same. He was looking for a piece of vengeance for the test flight death of his sister Laika He don’t care about space programs, progress or perestroika. Chorus Do you remember the future, baby? Where do you think yesterday came from? Do you remember the future, baby? All those tomorrows been and gone. Do you remember the future, baby? I wanna ban the whale, I wanna save the bomb! Skywalking all the way to Memphis when a climate change came with Hurricane Elvis Bladerunning from a past that haunts me Future fear ‘aint got nothing on this You come looking for a retro vibe but if I were you, I’d just keep on walking I can’t hear my rock n roll for the sound of money talking Chorus I flipped to another dimension for a ringside seat at the new renaissance All the roads had nowhere signs to nowhere lands but with better restaurants The future’s brighter on the other side? It’s about time we nailed that misnomer Time ‘aint what it used to be But don’t it fly when you’re in a coma?

Probably North 10th St. (x4) Are you ready for correction? A shakedown if you will. On silver walls where Madonna hung they’ve got time to kill. Sugar vibed vacant. Madame Jane vibed queen. About the Broadways...

The Broadway Twisters performed their stunning live debut supporting platinum selling artist Paul Young’s new Tex-Mex band Los Pacaminos. Since then they’ve hot-footed bandstands across the country including The Gypsy Hotel, Ronnie Scott’s and the 100 Club with the likes of The Urban Voodoo Machine, Si Cranstoun, Daddy Long Legs, Ruts DC, Shonen Knife, Tenpole Tudor, Theatre of Hate, John Otway and Steve Conte from The New York Dolls.
In April 2016 they performed at Muse’s end of Drones Tour party at the Brooklyn Bowl in the 02 arena.
In 2019 the band were featured on the Urban Voodoo Machine’s covers album ‘Friends and Family’ alongside such exalted company as Jim Jones and Wilko Johnson.
Along with hi-octane 50’s classics and a few ‘off the beaten track’ toons, The Broadway Twisters’ incendiary brand of noir-country trash-R&R is evolving into something unique – think Allen Ginsberg meets Dale Hawkins.

And now in 2020... the long-awaited debut album! "South by South West 2"
